The purpose of this project was to design an information portal for the Parish Development Model for Wampeewo Parish. The objectives of the project were; identify the key principles and components of the Parish Development Model for Wampeewo Parish, identify the existing challenges in accessing information about the PDM in Wampeewo Parish, determine the benefits of an information portal for Parish Development Model in Wampeewo Parish and to design an accessible information portal for the Parish Development Model for Wampeewo Parish. The study employed a qualitative and quantitative approach in data collection. The researchers target population was 400 and actual respondents were 196 that participated in the study. Interview, questionnaire, observation and document review methods were data collection methods used to collect data from field. Findings reveal that the people in Wampeewo Parish receive un reliable information from the leaders concerning PDM which has made citizens to lose trust in their leaders. From the field it was also revealed that information concerning the parish development model is recorded manually in counter books which has brought difficulties for citizens to access information because there is no data sharing. The challenges faced in accessing information were; lack of communication channels, lack of awareness, changes in the guidelines, language barriers, inaccessible PDM leaders, lack of transparency among leader’s trust and credibility. The researchers recommended the design of an information portal for easy access of information about the PDM and its implementation, enable sharing of updates, progress reports and important documents on the PDM, and support for the communication among stakeholders.en_US
