dc.description.abstractThis research was aimed at investigating the role of visual representation of the art exhibitions towards the development of art industry in the makerere university art school. The specific research problem of the study was to examine to what extent the visual representation of the art exhibition rely the development of the art industry at the MTSIFA in Makerere University. The research was guided by the following objectives; To identify the importance of holding the art exhibitions in art school To examine the impact of exhibitions in the art industry To establish the challenges faced during the holding of art exhibitions How to cope up with technology in the exhibiting of art works The research study used both qualitative and purposive methods. The population samples were some students on the Margaret Trowell School from various years, some renowned exhibitors and lecturers, and the gallery attendants. The respondents were interviewed and also given questionnaires which were later collected after being filled. The researcher also used interview guides, questionnaires as data collection Finding revealed that the role of the exhibitions held in the gallery on the development of the art school of MTSIFA is still questionable due to the information collected from the respondents on how their attendance in those held exhibitions and their awareness of the exhibitions held in the MTSIFA showed an estimated level of ignorance about the art exhibitions held in the school gallery. The researcher recommended that a clear survey must be carried out by the different stake holders exhibition in order to encourage people to come exhibitions and this can be done through continuous advertisements, holding sensitization programs about the art exhibitions to make it easy for people to turn up on such occasions and hence promoting interactive sessions to different artists which hence lead to the development of the art industry through such gatherings since different artists come up and critic other peoples works which hence help different artists learn and improve their art skills from acquiring interesting clues from the various artists and curatoren_US
