Enhancing community participation in biodiversity conservation within Mabira forest reserve, central Uganda
Abstract
This study was undertaken to identify strategies for enhancing community participation in
biodiversity conservation within protected areas, specifically the Central Forest Reserves. It
was carried out in and around Mabira Central Forest Reserve that is located in central
Uganda. The forest lies in Buikwe, Kayunga and Mukono districts. The study covered the the
following villages around Mabira Forest Reserve: Nsakya A/B, Najjembe, Dangala A,
Nagojje, Mubango
