Background: The bean bruchid, is a highly destructive stored product insect that presents a significant threat to stored beans. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of combined application of Metarhizium anisopliae and deltamethrin on the mortality rate of the bruchids. Method: Experimental trials were conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the fungus, the , and their combination against bean weevils. Mortality rates was measured as an indicator of treatment efficacy. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical methods, including one-way ANOVA and Tukey's post-hoc test Results: The insecticidal activity of the deltamethrin against adult bean bruchids through spraying. There was a significant reduction in responsive adults after time lapse of 5-10 minutes showing effectiveness at 100% mortality rate. Metarhizium anisopliae alone showed an overall effectiveness of 78.67%. While the combined treatment showed effectiveness at 100% mortality rate. Conclusion: The findings suggest a synergistic interaction between Metarhizium anisopliae and the pyrethroid in controlling bean weevils. The combined application of these treatments resulted in improved effectiveness, surpassing the additive effect of their individual use. These results indicate the potential for developing integrated pest management strategies that harness the synergistic benefits of combining biological agents and chemical insecticides. Further research is recommended to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and optimize treatment protocols for enhanced pest control in agricultural settings.en_US
