The dynamics of oil painting at MSTIFA since 2021 in Makerere University, Kampala district, Uganda

Abstract

This purpose of the study was to investigate n the various ways the techniques of oil painting are used at Mstifa and to interpret the paintings of the students according to their mood and personality. The study was descriptive and analytical in nature where both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection were used through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The findings established that the students of oil painting are still learning how Mr. Kati wants the paintings of the story compositions. The level at which students are less focused on the theory research and the visual research , it’s what is affecting their Gina composition. If students are to learn carefully how to come up with various sketches and then combine them together to come up with a good final sketch that tells a clear story, final composition will be a success.A few have manange to really come up with the sketch the lecturers needs, -‘d which is a great improvement according to the class of oil painting yeast two 2022.The study therefore suggested and recommended that; a better research and visual research makes the final sketch successful because of the various ideas being researched so there is room for the students to express him or herself when it comes to the final sketch. After a good research the students are supposed to compose a very good final sketch which has variety of sketches being made from various visual researches got. After this sketch , a student will be able to paint direct from the colour r sketch to the canvas. A major focus is put on the colours to be used, which are tertiary colours for example yellow orange, blue green, and many more which will I’ll make the final painting a success.
