Contributions and archievements of Texfad structual facility towards the development of textile industry

Abstract

The study investigated on the contributions and achievements of Texfad towards the textile industry. Texfad is a structural textile facility located in Namugongo Kampala Uganda that deals in use of hand weaving machines and power engines basically from natural materials to threads and fibers. The study was based on the following objectives; the main objective was to investigate on the contributions of Texfad facility towards the textiles industry, the other objective was to find out the achievements of Texfad as a textile facility where as the last objective was to find out the challenges faced by Texfad facility. In this research, the researcher used two methodologies of collecting data which were qualitative and quantitative. As a researcher I used these methods to obtain results from the field (Namugongo area for example numbers of people interviewed, percentages and others in forms of graphs and tables. The findings of the study; The results obtained from the field presented that Texfad is positively contributing to the textile industry, according to information given by the employees at the facility indicated that the facility is successfully moving forward despite of few challenges faced.
