dc.description.abstractThe study involved the exploration of the effectiveness of early intervention programs in preventing delinquent behaviors in at-risk youth with Naguru Remand Home as a case study. It led to the formulation of research objectives which included among others to; explore the impact of early intervention programs on reducing delinquent behaviors in at-risk youth of Naguru Remand Home; identify the risk factors associated with delinquent behaviors in at-risk youth of Naguru Remand Home; identify the barriers to the implementation of effective early intervention programs on reducing delinquent behaviors in at-risk youth of Naguru Remand Home and to propose for measures/strategies that can be targeted by early intervention programs on reducing delinquent behaviors in at-risk youth of Naguru Remand Home. Since the study sought to determine the relationship between variables, a simple correlation design was adopted to examine the effectiveness of early intervention programs in preventing delinquent behaviors in at-risk youth with Naguru Remand Home as a case study. The study thus, used a qualitative approach which was adopted to enable the researcher to capture more in-depth information/data on the topic under investigation. A number of sampling techniques were used to select respondents to the study namely; stratified, simple random and purposive sampling techniques. The study gave recommendations and concluded that, early intervention programs hold significant promise in reducing delinquent behaviors in at-risk youth at Naguru Remand Home. However, to maximize their potential impact, it is crucial to address funding barriers, engage the community, and adopt holistic approaches that target the multifaceted risk factors associated with delinquency.en_US
