dc.description.abstract | This research report focuses on identifying factors that contribute togenderinequalities among photography art students in Makerere University, with aspecificfocus on female photographers in Kampala. The study aims to identify barriersfacedby female photographers in their pursuit of artistic excellence and successinthefield, and to propose solutions for improving their performance and reducinggenderdisparities. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, , combiningsurveys, interviews, and observation and using both qualitative and quantitativedatacollection techniques to gather information from female photographers, their peers, and instructors. The findings suggest that female photographers facevariouschallenges, including limited access to resources, mentorship, and networkingopportunities. The report recommends several strategies for improvingtheperformance of female photographers, including creating mentorship programs, providing technical training and skills development, and establishing a supportivecommunity for female photographers in Kampala. The report concludesthataddressing gender inequalities among photography art students is crucial forachieving gender equality in the art world, and that the proposed strategiescouldcontribute to the success of female photographers in Kampala and beyond | en_US |
