Designing an e-filing (digital) system for the Uganda Museum

An electronic filing system is a system of organizing files that utilize hard drive space.The digital filing system in the same way is the use of technology to convert from traditional filing like the use of file cabinets into digital format.These makes it easier to search information needed in the system and the process of storing documents for the future use.
The manual filing system is associated with a lot of problems such as wastage of time and office space, difficult in retrieving a file .In lines with the study objectives which are stated as ,to find out the existing filing system at the Uganda museum, To establish the challenges with in the filing system and designing an e-filing/digital system for the Uganda museum.The study being qualitative, two methods of data collection were used which were observation and interview.The study established that the different type of records generated at the Uganda museum were historical,administrative ,legal ,financial and research records.The study finding revealed that the manual system was more of a complex system . And in lines with this , the study concluded that there was a need to design an e-filing /digital system for the Uganda national museum.The system was accessed and the findings found it more simpler for use to towards the organization growth.
