The dominant groundwater quality problems in Uganda are related to poor sanitation and fecal coliforms have been found in some groundwater. Despite these water quality problems, groundwater remains the most important source of drinking water in rural Uganda and peri- urban areas such as the Kampala slums. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between ground water pollution by E. coli and the contributors to this pollution in Bwaise III parish; taking pit latrine density and water table depth as the main factors. And from the study, conclusions were made that the level of ground water pollution with E.coli is directly proportional to the pit latrine density and inversely proportional to the water table depth.en_US
