The objective of the study was to investigate the influence of the introduction of electronic learning on the enhancement of education in Makerere University. The assessment was made by attitude, trust and adoption to electronic learning using primary data collected from 100 student respondents from School of Statistics. The analysis was made using frequency tables, summery statistics, Pearson correlation, ANOVA and multiple regressions. From the analysis, the average index of 3.77 shows that there was a high level of adoption to electronic learning which has played a major role in influencing the enhancement of education. Electronic learning was assessed using linear regression. The p-value was less than 0.05. The level of trust and adoption to electronic learning increased with increased attitude towards using it. In the light of the findings, students’ level to electronic learning was influenced by their attitude and trust in addition to their respective characteristics like age, sex, and course. Therefore to enhance the influence of electronic learning, it is recommendable to ensure and make electronic learning interfaces for the users more attractive. Build electronic learning enabling environments A system that provides up to date information with good user interface should be developed. Institutions of higher learning should make electronic learning channels that are attractive to students and easier to use in all environments. Further studies should be expanded to cover a large sample size and across the country to give a broader understanding of the influence of introduction of electronic learning on the enhancement of education in Uganda.
