dc.description.abstractABSTRACT This study was aimed at designing a website to ease communication at Our Lady of Africa Senior Secondary School, Namilyango (OLASSN), that is between the school and its parents, students, teachers and other contributing partners. The study objectives were to; identify how Our Lady of Africa Senior Secondary School communicates to its parents, students and teachers, determine the challenges that the school is facing in the process of communicating with its clients or stalk holders, establish strategies of improving the process of communication between Our Lady of Africa Senior Secondary and its clients, design a website for Our Lady of Africa Senior Secondary School to create a more efficient channel of communication with its clients and promoting its services. The study applied a quantitative research design method. The study used two sampling methods that is a purposive sampling technique where the participants who were selected for the study had to possess some quality that was relevant to the study and later on applied the snowball technique where a participant was used to attract another participant. The sampling methods were used to select 66 participants, comprising of 60 students, 6 teachers, one of them a school administrator who was also a parent to a student at the school. The study findings established the OLASSN Secondary School use the following means of communication amongst which included notice boards, assemblies, flyers, telephone, text messages, circulars, face to face communication, school magazines, report cards and letters. The challenges that OLASSN faced in its Communication were inaccessibility of information, unstable network connectivity, lack of feedback, lack of enough finance, lack of a school website, difference in beliefs, lack of co-operation and compliance and language barrier amongst other. The study designed a new website for Our Lady of Africa, Namilyango to improve on their communication and make it easier and more efficient. The study further made recommendations to improve on the Communication at OLASSN which included forming a communication advisory committee, employing more qualified Information personnel, develop a school mobile app development and embracing other modes of communication like newsletters and digital social media platforms.en_US
