dc.description.abstractThis report is about an ‘Assessing the Filing System of Customer Account Records at Orient Bank Records Center’. The study was guided by the following objectives; To examine how Customer Account Records are filed in Orient Bank. To find out the retrieval process for Customer Account Records at Orient Bank. To find out the challenges affecting Customer Account Records filing system in Orient Bank. To identify best practices for customer account records filing in orient bank. The study used a cross sectional survey design with majorly qualitative methods. Data was collected through observations and interview guides. Data was analyzed and presented qualitative analysis techniques of paraphrasing and narrative description, indenting and direct quotation / verbatim of responses. The study found that filing System of a Customer Account Records at Orient Bank Records Center which included; Customer Account Records filed in Orient Bank included the customer account records filed like savings Accounts, theses were documents that intended to provide an incentive for you to save money. Current Accounts, these were chequing accounts and for many people, the most popular type of account, fixed deposit accounts which involved clients fixing a lump sum of money over flexible periods of 1, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months and earn interest. The study found that the retrieval process for Customer Account Records at Orient Bank, included manual account records filling system where records that were collected and kept in files that were indexed for easy access and retrieval, records were stored in stored in shelves in a specific arrangement. The study concluded that main challenges Customer Account Records filing system in Orient Bank, which included limited storage facilities such as cup boards that were supposed to keep the ever increasing customer account records, in other wards they had fixed storage space but the records where always increasing. Furthermore, the research identified the suggestions by respondents on how to improve Customer Account Records filing system in Orient Bank. The researcher also recommends the staff to try and understand all guidelines for improving access and retrieval of active data; this is because they are intended to help the Orient Bank so maximum attention should be put to them. They should be studied, analyzed and understood in depth because their impact is positive. The researcher also recommends an automated records management and electronic document imaging systems that is able to capture, read and update data (Customer Account Records).en_US
