This study focused on the factors affecting delivery among women in Eastern Uganda. The general objective of the study was to determine the factors that affect child delivery in Eastern Uganda. The research entirely used secondary data extracted from 2016 Uganda Demographic Health Survey. The Data set that was used in this study was specifically for women in the reproductive ages (aged 15-49 years). A sample size of 96,265 women aged 15-49 years were interviewed in the survey and these women had had a birth in the five years preceding the survey. The data was compiled; edited, validated and statistical packages like MS EXCEL, SPSS and STATA were used for effective data analysis. The data was then processed in MS word in form of tables and frequency tables and in words. Regressions were run to get the most contributing socio economic variable. Frequency tables and cross tabulation tables are the main form of data presentation. The findings of the study indicated the various determinants of health facility delivery among women in Eastern Uganda. The outcome variable that was used by the researcher was health facility delivery. The study revealed that the proportion of births that took place in the health facilities was 40%.Furthermore, the study also revealed that there is a significant relationship between the respondent’s place of residence, education and wealth of the respondent, and there was no significant relationship with other factors or determinants. Women residing in rural areas were less likely to deliver from health facilities, women with no education and women from poor households were also unlikely to deliver from health care facilities. Programs to improve accessibility and affordability of better health care services in rural areas should be developed to enable women in rural areas access those services. The government should advocate for girl child education and women empowerment to enable women make better decisions regarding their reproductive lives and issues like delivery in health facilities. The study recommends that possible measures and strategies should be undertaken by the Government and the responsible Stakeholders like Non-Government organizations and donors to drastically increase health facility deliveries among the women in Eastern Uganda.en_US
