This project leads us to a direct drive of the process of automating Current Awareness Service (CAS); a way of informing and alerting library users on the newly acquired information materials or holdings of a library. Once CAS is automated, it is faster, timely and easier to alert many users and their information needs are met. Most important to note is that this project guides us through the steps taken to automate CAS in Vision Group (VG). For this matter, the study covers various fields like determining the current state of CAS at NVML, challenges in NVML, its advantages over manual CAS, how to solve the challenges involved in automated CAS in NVML identifying the guidelines for automated CAS, also stating the possible solutions to the challenges mentioned. In addition, the study deeply explores the various methods in which relevant data is collected, how to use them and their impact to the success of the study as a whole. Both quantitative and qualitative methods are used to collect an accurate sample of data. The data is later analyzed so as to give accurate results in the study. Data was got mainly from the users of the New Vision Media Library (NVML). Both internal and external users shared their views and helped gather information to facilitate the research. However, the librarians were also available and participated in this project research as they also shared their views. All this is systematically seen in the following project study.en_US
