This research contains the development and simulation of a mathematical model for the optimization of the pozzolana drier. The research was carried out at HIMA Cement Limited, Kasese Uganda on a pozzolana drier which uses hot gases from the hot gas generator which utilizes biomass and ambient air. Pozzolana is a cement additive that has cementitious properties but it is not advised to be used when it is wet. A mathematical model with a confidence of 97.14% was developed using regression analysis in Microsoft excel and Minitab software. The model generated was a non-linear equation, and it was numerically solved using MATLAB, numerical computing software. The effect of the various parameters is illustrated by the sensitivity analysis carried out. The minimum value of the moisture of the pozzolana out of the drier was 1.864%en_US
