    Management of active records in National Forestry authority

    Abstract
    The purpose and main objectives of this study was management of active records in National Forestry Authority and suggest recommendations on how it can be improved. In order to achieve the objectives that were set for this study this study; a literature study was carried out as well as a survey of the organizations. The summary was conducted to manage active records and data was collected by using observation guide, questionnaire, interview guide and reading the existing literature relating to the topic. The study revealed that managing active records was not getting the proper attention it deserved at the organization. Nonetheless, respondents acknowledged the importance of records management in the management and administration of organizational activities. However, it was evidenced that the ignorance was displayed in the management of records in NFA. Recommendations were made within the context of study of management of active records at NFA. It has been recommended that records management should be incorporated in organization’s plans by senior administrators. Regular training was also seen as on the main areas on which NFA should apply its focus to ensure sound records management.
