dc.description.abstractThe aim of the study was to assess the filing and storage systems of clients’ accounts records at (OPPBUL) park view branch. This study was guided by five (5) research objectives; To establish the different types of clients’ accounts records handled by opportunity bank Uganda limited, To assess filing system and equipment’s used to file clients’ accounts records, To assess storage systems and equipment’s used to store clients’ accounts records (OPPBUL), To Identify the challenges faced by the branch in the storage and filing of clients’ accounts records., To Developed recommendation to improve the filing and storage of clients’ accounts records, the methodologies used were Interview, questionnaires and observation guides in collection of data . The study found out that the clients’ accounts records filing and storage systems at (OPPBUL) are both in paper and electronic format. This implied that much of the records are in paper format, underlying challenges of too much space needed, too much time needed to retrieve a record, and unauthorized access. Information was got from 30 selected respondents who included clients as well as the staff. The study employed both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies so as to make finding understandable during data, analysis and presentation. The study concluded that the storage and filing system are fairly effective. And therefore the study recommended that more computers should be purchased and installed to facilitate the automation and computerization of clients’ accounts records. The records management staff should also be trained further in the area of modern computer usage to enable faster and efficient filing and storage of clients’ accounts records at (OPPBUL).en_US
