dc.description.abstractABSTRACT The study aimed at investigating the diversity of activities and visitors at the source of the Nile, Jinja. In this study a focus was on to provide a diversified portfolio of activities that increase spending and reduce the tourists who go to other destinations at the source of the Nile. Questionnaires, interviews and documentary review were applied to collect data that was analyzed using SPSS software. The study established that source of the Nile has different primary activities that based on the unique attraction at the destination. River Nile provided a basis for the water based activities. The presence of the unique features provided a basis for the nature based activities. The recreational activities were due to the presence of good environment and favorable climate of the source of the Nile, this provided a smooth environment for relaxation. The presence of praying ground for sports related activities like golf. Tourists majorly at the source of the Nile participated in activities such as bird watching, canoeing, reptile viewing, golf leisure and recreational. The main results of the study showed that visitors who visited source of the Nile were majorly foreign tourists, followed by African tourists and then domestic tourists. Activities of tourist interests included zip lining, cultural tourism, food tourism, horse riding, among others. Such activities were all potential.en_US
