dc.description.abstractThis study assessed the roles Boomu Womens Group on Household livelihood in Pakanyi Sub County. It was carried out in Kihaguzi parish, Pakanyi Sub County in Masindi district on the outskirts of Murchsion Falls National Park near the main entrance of Kichumbanyobo gate south of the park. Majority of the respondents in Kihaguzi parish included the Boomu Women’s Group, local leaders and project managers with different ethnic background and with different occupational interest. These include farming, trade, educationists, transporters (motorcycles) among others. The study recommends several strategies that can be used to influence women to participate in tourism and these were identified as education and sentizisation, empowering women in decision making, providing more funds to group initiative groups among others Despite the strategies, the group faces a number of challenges in participation of tourism, which were identified as to include inadequate capital, conservatism of local community, limited skills and training among othersen_US
