dc.description.abstractWith the factor that Kagarama secondary school library currently using manual circulation system for operation services which is registering users in book registry, which is easy to get lost, making mistakes during entering details of users, tiresome and no report overdue. The objective of the project study aims at modelling and implementing an application for library circulation system, so that all requirements of school library for electronic business with the library users can be fulfilled and help librarian to work effectively and provide good services to the library users. This research come with easiest method of an automated circulation system in Kagarama secondary school library, designed and implemented in the library which was used to replacement for the current (manual) circulation systems. The project report aimed at designing an Automated Library Circulation System for Kagarama Secondary School. Questionnaire used in research design was used as a qualitative research during data collections for the study. In this study, 94 participants were randomly assigned to the experimental condition as sample size used during methodology which consisting of the librarian, teachers and students while adopting a qualitative research approach in discussing findings which included 12teachers, 2 librarian and 80 students were involved. Data was collected using close-ended questionnaires, unstructured interviews and observation was used. During the representation, the researcher was in qualitatively analyzed of information and presented with in tables, pie charts and bar graphs. The research report consists of six chapters; Chapter one; it consists of background of the study, statement of the problem, scope, objectives of the study, research questions, justification of the study and definition of key terms. Then Chapter two: it’s the literature review and it is the related current literature review and Chapter three is the research methodology, which contains the area of study, research design, population of study, sampling, data collection methods which include the questionnaire, interview of which the research instruments are; questionnaires and interview guide and ethical issues. While Chapter four: its data analysis and presentation which include findings and data presented using tables, pie-chart and bar graph. Chapter five: includes designing a new system, a user requirement that is functional of the proposed system and non- function for the automated system. Chapter six: includes summary of findings, conclusion and the recommendations of the project and further research.en_US
