The study assessed determinants of profitability attained by farmers in Kyeizooba Sub county in Bushenyi District, was carried out in the three parishes that is Rutooma, Kitwe and Kararo in Kyeizooba Sub county Bushenyi district in Western Uganda as such a district is one of the top three leading in Banana production in Uganda. The overall objective of the study was; To find the determinants of profit levels obtained by banana farmers in in Kyeizooba Sub County in Bushenyi district whereas the specific objectives were; To determine the socio-economic characteristics of banana farmers in Kyeizooba sub county in Bushenyi district; To determine the factors that influence the quantity of output of bananas in Kyeizooba Sub County in Bushenyi district; To identify the factors that influence the level of profits of bananas in Kyeizooba Sub County in Bushenyi district. A sample of 75 respondents were randomly and results showed that the majority of the respondents turned out to be males at 58.7% and females at 41.3% who had involved themselves in banana production in the area of study. The study also revealed that the minimum age of the respondents was 22 and the maximum being 80 years approximating the overall mean age as 49.4 years. The average gross margin is 213,737.59 Uganda shillings per kilogram per annum implying that the profitability of banana enterprises is good. Age, household size, experience, belonging to a farmer group and distance to the market had a significant effect on the productivity of banana enterprises. Age is also an important factor that affects labor and adoption of technologies on the farm. A unit increase in the age of the farmer increases the productivity of the banana enterprise by (0.636) kilograms implying that age has a positive significant relationship with the output (P = 0.077). Household size, experience, distance to town and land size had a significant relationship with profitability. The need for government’s interventions to strengthen the gender responsive issues concerning women’s ownership of land such that they could operate banana production entirely since most of the women are home dwellers most of the times. Consistent and serious extension and workshops should be reinforced to ensure that diseases such as banana bacterial wilt and banana weevils could be eradicated to zero, this could also be possible by imposing fines on those who could be having infected banana plants. This would also increase the returns from banana plantations for individual house hold.en_US
