dc.description.abstractThe study focused on the iconography of the motifs of the local textile decorations within Kampala and it was guided by three major objectives namely; To find out and document the common Motifs used on fabric decoration in Kampala, to find out the messages behind the Motifs of the local decorations in Kampala, establish how these Motifs can regulate the norms and values of the people in Kampala. The study was carried out for a lime duration of one week within Kampala Using a descriptive cross-sectional research design with a sample population size of about ten respondents, data was collected using observation, sampling, questionnaire, and, interview method, the final report showed the common messages interpreted by different motifs. There for in conclusion, it was recommended that before embracing the virtual, textile decorators should be well verse with the common messages interpreted by most motifs.en_US
