Introduction: Electronic waste (E-waste) is the fastest growing waste in the solid waste stream in the urban environment. Globally, 50 million metric tons of E-waste was estimated to be generated in 2018. There is a rapid advancement in information and communication technology in the world. This has equally led to production and use of electric and electronic equipment thereby leading to generation of large quantities of E-waste. The improvement in peoples' economic status in different countries of the world has also led to change in lifestyles and more use of electric and electronic equipment thus escalated the E-waste challenge. Disposal of such waste still remains a big problem. Objective: To assess knowledge, attitudes and practices of households in Naguru parish, Nakawa division towards E-waste disposal in order to generate information that can be used to plan and design appropriate interventions to reduce health and environmental effects of E-waste. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study employed quantitative method of data collection. A structured questionnaire was used to collect quantitative data through conducting face to face interviews. Data on socio-demographic characteristics, knowledge, attitudes and practices was collected from 323 respondents which were selected through systematic sampling. Quantitative data was analysed using STATA version 13. Data was presented using tables, graphs and charts. Results: Most of the respondents were males (61%). Regarding education level, the biggest number were 'O' diploma holders (34%) and most of the respondents were civil servants (52%). Generally, the level of knowledge of respondents concerning E-waste was low; 61.92% had low knowledge about types of E-waste, management and disposal methods and health effects of E-waste. Almost a half of the respondents 45.51% agreed that E-waste is different from other forms of waste and 44.59% of the respondents had positive attitude. The study also revealed that; 43.03% of the respondents disposed their E-waste by selling them and 40.25% practiced dumping. Conclusion: The findings revealed that people had low level of knowledge and poor practices concerning E-waste sources, management and negative health effects of E-waste. The main causes of the poor habit of E-waste management included; lack of awareness on E-waste management, E-waste in not hazardous and lack of designated disposal areas for E-waste. The study recommends that Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) should work with relevant ministries to sensitise locals about proper management of E-waste.en_US
