dc.description.abstractObjectives of the Study were to analyze records storage and security measures at KCCA Central Registry, to find out the types of records kept and how they are made secure at KCC A Central Registry, to identify challenges facing records storage and security at KCCA-Central Registry, and to suggest possible improvement solutions to storage and security of records al KCCA - Central Registry The researcher used both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection and analysis which enabled a wide range of data to be generated from respondents. Purposive sampling was used to collect data from the individuals attached to the registry department of Kampala Capital City Authority. In line with the research design, two approaches of data collection was used, primary and secondary data collection. The primary sources of data collection, data were gathered using questionnaires, interviews and observation. Secondary data was obtained from existing literatures mainly internet, books and other publications which relate to the topic of the study. Data analysis was both descriptive and explanatory Emphasis in this case was on descriptive statistics since it used qualitative and quantitative approaches. All the responses collected from the field were completed, analyzed and presented in convenient form. It comprised of tables, bar graphs and pre charts In Kampala Capital City' Authority records are not always organized and stored in an orderly way to ensure easy retrieve al. does not always keep records together in a group so that they can be used as a unit within a given area, file groups are not always subdivided into more specific subgroups, records and files are not always put into groups according to subjects. files are not always labelled with certain identities/ codes, students records are not always arranged according to the various sequential processes of student management such as admission, registration, and performance. Besides that, Kampala Capital City Authority is challenged with managing all information under a single policy.  en_US
