The study aimed at generating information on the state of sanitation facilities at public places within Wakiso town council as to generate knowledge on the dangers associated with using public restrooms. The research was based on the quantitative approach of data collection from 60 public places which were selected by convenience sampling. Numerical data was generated and used to generalize a given occurrence for example on cleanliness and adequacy of sanitation facilities across a number of public places. Findings indicate that general cleanliness of the sanitation facilities was low as the average score on this parameter was 2.45 which lies below 3 that coded for an average cleanliness. The study concluded that public sanitation facilities within Wakiso Town Council and the adjacent places were inappropriate provisions to their clientele based on their inadequacy and poor sanitation condition. These can be sources of diseases to the unfortunate visitors amongst which are cholera and diarrhoea. The study recommended numerous actions that should be taken to improve sanitation in public places like the need for routine inspection by the area health inspector to ensure compliance to the agreed upon standards prior issuing of operational licenses.en_US
