Management of closed files in Lubaga Hospital

Abstract

The research entails management of closed files of Medical Records at Lubaga Hospital. The aim of this research is to assess on the closed files of medical records in order to improve on the management of closed files that would help Lubaga Hospital to enable them store and destroy the unwanted records for a specific purpose of space and maintenance and this was done under objectives such as: to find out the closing of medical files in Lubaga hospital, to highlight the existing retention requirements, storage and disposition of closed files, Identify the challenges and to formulate recommendations for the effective management of closed files at Lubaga Hospital. The problem of the study was the increasing misplacement and records loss, deterioration, and also lack of space for active records. The techniques which were used to collect data were the qualitative method which was interview technique that was a source of tool that was used in the collection of data about the study “management of closed files” Observation method was also another technique that was used to analyse the conditions in which the closed files of medical records were stored in. The findings during the research included: closing of medical files, Retention, storage methods and disposition of closed files, and challenges encountered in management of closed files of medical records. In conclusion this research which was about management of closed files of medical records and the findings got will enable readers to know more about management of closed files
