dc.description.abstract | This research focused on assessing the management of school records at Nganwa High School Kabwohe as the case study. It was based on the following objectives: to examine the different types of records managed at Nganwa High School Kabwohe, to assess the importance of managing school records at Nganwa High School Kabwohe, to investigate the challenges associated with ensuring good management of and suggest recommendations for the challenges faced in managing school records at Nganwa High School Kabwohe. Data triangulation method was used by the researcher which comprised of both primary and secondary methods. Primary data collection method included interviewing and observation methods whereby a total of 20 respondents participated in the research study while secondary data collection method comprised of reviewing related literature from websites, journals, Newspapers and articles. The findings of the study included the following;
The study revealed that different types of school records were managed by the school which included; teachers’ attendance registers, log books, school time-tables, and visitors’ book. It also indicated that school records aid in quick and better decision making for effective school administration, provide evidence, accountability and an auditable record. Furthermore, challenges like inadequate storage equipment and limited space, failure to comply with the set policies concerning effective school records management and inadequate qualified staff were the mostly suggested by the respondents that participated in this research. However, in order to effectively manage the school records, recommendations like training more records staff, allocation of sufficient money specifically for managing the school records and among others were suggested. | en_US |
