A research report submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the award of the degree of Bachelor of science in Sports Science of Makerere Universityen_US
Sports-related concussion is highly reported in rugby, due in part to frequent contacts and high tempo. The study aimed to assess sport-related concussion knowledge and attitudes of athletes, coaches and trainers. Findings from the descriptive study of 50 voluntary respondents indicate athletes were moderately knowledgeable with poor attitudes whereas coaches and trainers were sufficiently knowledgeable with good attitudes to sports-related concussions. The researcher recommended introduction of an annual mandatory awareness program for all the groups and scheduling of workshops, seminars and short courses in order to deliver information about concussions. Areas of further research recommended were carrying out the same research in female rugby league and rugby teams outside Kampala research.en_US
