dc.description.abstractThis dissertation attempts to examine the Storage and Retrieval of patient’s records at Luwero Health Centre IV. In addition, the specific objectives of this study were used to identify type of patient’s records, patient’s records retrieval. Management of patient’s records storage and retrieval, challenges of patient’s records storage and retrieval. Furthermore, methodology discussed the research design that is case study design, area of the study Luweero health centre IV, Tsrgeted population from which sampling methods like purposive sampling, sampling size that is three respondents, data collection methods like interviews, observation and document analysis, ethical consideration, limitation of the study and finally the scope of the study where the researcher looked at the geographical, time and conceptual scope. Major findings of the study revealed that patient’s records in this organisation are categorised basing on their types papers and electronic patient’s records and that the problem of poor records storage and retrieval in the registry of Luweero Health centre IV are largely due to limited facilities of patient’s records management and lack of clear policies, limited storage area and storage equipments in the registry of Luwero Health Centre IV and lack of financial resources and human capacity. Conclusively, in order to facilitate records storage and retrieval atLuwero Health Centre IV. The management in coordination with appointed records managers should systematically address the identified problems to ensure that there is no hindrance of patient’s storage and retrieval at Luwero Health Centre IV. However, the proposed recommendations are; designing and implementing of comprehensive patient’s records management policy, establishing a records management programme, designing and implementing guidelines for patient’s records retrieval, setting up a large storage area and finally recruiting qualified records managers. These recommendations are necessary and need to be implemented urgently in order to ensure accountable and proper patient’s records storage and retrieval and management at Luwero Health Centre IV.en_US
