dc.description.abstract | This project aimed at designing a website for marketing AHS library. The objectives of the
study were to: to; identify the current methods of marketing Atlas High School library, find
out the challenges of marketing Atlas High School library, identify the requirements for a
website for Atlas High School Library and design a website for marketing Atlas High School
library.
A case study approach of the qualitative research design was adopted to collect data. A
population of 440 people was target and it constituted students, teachers and librarians. A
sample size of 40 respondents was determined. The sampling method was the purposive and
non-probability sampling method questionnaire, interview, document review and observation
methods were used for data collection.
The study revealed that AHS had different methods of marketing but there was need to
design a website that would help in marketing the library.
The study concluded that the website would perfectly help in marketing the library of AHS
library.
The study recommended that School libraries should develop marketing plans that will help
to ensure that the strategies are put in place and managed for the benefit of the libraries,
Library management should be provided with enough funds to procure current global
information networks like the Internet, Library staff should be given computer literacy
training so as to be efficient in their place of work, The library should try to market itself by
making use of other media like twitter and blog to bring to the notice of the general public the
benefits that they derive from library services and Efforts should be made to improve the
quality of services rendered to users by employing more staff and establishing a cordial
relationship between the staff and students. | en_US |
