dc.description.abstractStorage of human urine for different days 5 days, 10 days and 15 days in order to determine the best time for its effective use as an organic fertilizer then later on comparing its efficiency with inorganic fertilizers through determination of protein concentration, leaf area and dry mater. Experiments on the test crop bean plant were conducted at the Makerere University Botanical Garden and then Bioanalytical laboratories at NaCRRI. These were planted in tins with five different fertilizer treatment where two plants were planted in each tin and triplicates made for each treatment. These treatments included urine stored for 15 days, 10 days, 5 days, NPK and no fertilizer treatment at all. Before application dilution was carried out where for every liter, urine was dissolved in 20 liters of water and the 50mls of NPK dissolved in 20 liters. Fertilizer treatment was carried out after two weeks of planting. On determination of the best storage time, it was found out that storage for 5 days resulted in higher protein concentration, dry matter & largest leaf area which reduced as storage time increased. On comparison with inorganic treatment, urine treatment (5 days since it was found to be the best storage time) was found to be with a significantly higher yield production.en_US
