Human beings have moved from drinking natural flowing waters to buying water produced by different companies because it is believed to be portable and clean. This is because due to the increased population, industrialization many of the natural water sources are being polluted which makes the water unsafe for consumption because it makes them sick. Therefore, this has led to construction of many different companies worldwide to try to solve the problem of consuming contaminated water. Most of the studies have showed that some water companies don’t produce standard goods for the people’s consumption which may be a problem in the nearby future. Many companies have emerged in Uganda for the past years all producing bottled water though with different prices, tastes and branding some of which are producing products that are not of standard which affects people in different ways. Many research findings show that there is contamination in the bottled waters of some companies especially the cheap brands and especially for the companies that have just started production. The investigations were carried out on two different companies both of which are less than 2 years old. The interest was to find out if both companies are producing within the Ugandan standards which was done while looking at analysis of different parameters both physiochemical like PH, Magnesium and calcium and biological like E. coli, total coliforms which was carried out from DGAL. According to the research, the two companies seem not to be following the right procedures because most of the samples where way below though within the Ugandan standards like magnesium, calcium, PH though for company B the PH levels where not within, it was below the standards recommended for consumption. In addition, there was no presence of E. coli and Total coliforms which means there was no fecal contamination of water. This research also found out that the labels on the water bottles didn’t correspond with what was found from the lab analysis, the results were very below than what was on the labels. After proper analysis, I recommend that UNBS should consistently analyze samples from different batches from the different companies and also by picking a bigger number of sample units to be studied in order to get relatively correct results of what is being produced. This helps to provide corrective measures to solve the problem before it gets into the market. I also encourage that UNBS should carry out regular inspection on the products that are sent to the market. This. should be checked more regularly after a certain period of time to ensure that they comply with the set standards for quality and that they are free from defects and for those caught should be taxed highly stopped from production in order to avoid certain dangers like poor health among the people.en_US
