Abstract
This research was a survey on the factors rendering oil painting at and was guided by the following objectives. 1. Identify the factors rendering oil painting among students at MTSIFA. 2. To find out the value of oil painting as related to other course units. The researcher used different sources to avail herself with data, across, sectional survey that covered a period of around 12 months was employed. A representational number was subjected to a population of 104 people through a questionnaire. It was thus concluded that the largest number of respondents understood and strongly appreciated oil painting. Secondly, academic training was expressed to be critically infant based on the findings. The research recommended that oil painters and the art schools should rejuvenate the art by developing a more effective tutorial approach. Lastly the theme is needed for the professionals to get involved in the production of oil paint so that different types are produced both in the linkage to avoid consequences or factors affecting rendering oil painting or poor treated oils when applied on a non flitting surface.
