    Abstract
Sculpture is an effective way of communicating within a country, this has been used in different aspects most especially sculptures have helps in keeping historical moments of different areas in Uganda and also to promote certain activities in the country for example tourism, business among others. This is focusing on sculptures located in Kampala central division taking stock of their subject matters, as discussed below we have got two types of sculptures; relief sculptures and full- round sculptures. The main objective of this study is to find out about the different sculptures in Kampala central division by finding out the artist, the audience, the effectiveness of the work, the subject matter and also the period when the art piece was made. The data was collected through the following methods, Observation, documentary analysis, interviewing and triangulation, these methods were applied to the people around the sculptures to collect the information and also visiting libraries both online platforms and physical to get the information. The problem is that there is no documented researched records of subject matter/ content pertaining to sculptures in and around Kampala central division of which this could be helping the upcoming sculptors or students to get inspired and have a story for the sculpture pieces they make or educating the people around them. The findings indicate that the sculptures have negative and positive impact to the people around Kampala central division whereby they do not consider the subject matters of the sculptures.
