Abstract
Plastic waste poses a great concern to researchers and academia globally. The result of an inadequate waste disposal scheme threatens human settlement both in the urban and rural dwellings, and the environmental and social impact worsens the as world population increases. There is no doubt that every person is an essential contributor to this problem. Regardless, to generate waste is one thing, the type of waste generated is another, and yet also the way it is generated, managed or disposed-off, entirely a different issue. The present study uses a quantitative research approach on how artists in Uganda can help the already existing recycling companies to reduce on the large amounts of plastic waste and collects data from Makerere university which is located within the central business district of Uganda. In this community, there are challenges of lean assets to administer their plastic wastes, leading to unrestrained dumping, also poor management of wastes, thereby contributing to environmental pollution, and the spread of diseases, land degradation, and unhealthy living.(Makamba T, Ndejjo R, Musoke D, et al,2016) The research evaluates, analyzes and characterizes the composition of the existing plastic waste collection system and recycling methods together with how art can help to solve the plastic waste crisis. The methods of data collection in this include an online questionnaire which I used to acquire data. I used my phone to collect all my data.
