    Abstract
The study aimed to find the relationship between urbanisation and the selected LULC of Wakiso district. The study employed GIS techniques mostly where the impact was obtained by creating LULC maps. Satellite images were obtained from Landsat (USGS website) and these were images of 2013 and 2023. These images were worked on using the ArcMap software where different band combinations were used but the infrared band combination was used mostly since it is very easy to distinguish the vegetation types using this method. The method used during classification was supervised image classification assisted by the maximum likelihood classification algorithm. To ensure data accuracy, the confusion matrix was computed using the ArcMap software where the kappa co-efficient of 0.82 was obtained which showed almost a perfect agreement between the satellite data and the data which was obtained through ground truthing. The points which were selected for ground truthing were chosen randomly where a total of 50 points were used. The results showed that the built-up areas increased by 3.067%, the agricultural grounds increased by 4.42%, the area covered by tree cover decreased by 0.383%, the area covered by shrubs and grasses also decreased by 3.714%, the area covered by the wetlands decreased by 1.511%, the area covered by the water bodies also decreased by 0.101%.
