Abstract
This study was set out to examine of the relevance of communication design in addressing covid- 19 pandemic awareness in Kampala. Covid 19 disease is a Corona virus disease which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome that affects human. Coronavirus as it was first identified in Wuhan China in 2019 and the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a public emergency in 2019 and emergency changes took place including with the rise of COVID 19 disease which resulted into the several effects such as lockdown in various Countries that has the associated effects such as effect on the economy with the closure of the work places to reduce on the number of infections as well as closure of the income sources. It was observed that these effects were a result of limited knowledge and information about the disease, lack of awareness about the disease. In the study I explored how communication design can act as a device to create awareness on COVID 19 in Kampala. This was done by doing the following: I used a case of communication designs present. Designs from hospitals schools’ banks and other public spaces. Intervention: I carried out this research and hand a copy to the ministry of health to aid in fighting the disease. This was due to limited research carried out in Kampala
