Local leaders, community members and tourists were interviewed data collected were reviewed, selected question by questions to simple those who agreed and those who didn’t agree to the questions being asked, mixed-methods approach was used to make surveys, interviews, document reviews, and data analysis were used. This study contributes to sustainable tourism development, cultural heritage preservation, and community empowerment in Uganda, providing valuable insights for policymakers, conservationists, and tourism stakeholders. This study's examination of community-led conservation initiatives, collaborative management approaches, and cultural site management practices around Sezibwa Falls reveals that community-based approaches hold significant potential for effective cultural conservation and sustainable tourism development. Traditional conservation practices, community-led tourism initiatives, and the pivotal role of community elders and traditional leaders contribute to successful cultural site management. However, challenges persist, highlighting the need for enhanced community engagement, capacity building, and collaborative partnerships between local communities, NGOs, and government agencies. By addressing identified gaps and areas for improvement, Sezibwa Falls can serve as a model for community-based cultural conservation and sustainable tourism development in Uganda, ultimately promoting cultural heritage preservation, community livelihood enhancement, and environmentally conscious tourism practices that benefit both local communities and visitors alike.
