Abstract

This research investigated the influence of new media on contemporary visual arts within the academic context of Makerere University .Its purpose is to explore how emerging new media have reshaped artistic practices and expressions at Margret Trowel School of industrial and Fine Arts .Employing a qualitative research design, this study will utilize interviews, and observation as a primary methods, supplemented by literature review and document analysis and the study addresses the problem statement the integration of new media reshape the creation, reception, and interpretation of visual arts at MTISFA and the findings reveal the profound influence of new media on both the production and reception of artworks, highlighting shifts in artistic techniques, audience engagement, and the conceptualization of art in digital age.
