Abstract
The research is aimed at finding ways of making oil paintings more communicative through
animations to the youth and younger generation. Most of them believe that paintings are just
something attractive one can just stare at, appreciate and move away. Oil painting is a creative
that involves the expression and communication of a matter either based on context or
imagination. However most people who are ignorant of the arts miss out the bigger picture of the
point an oil painting ought to bring out, therefore limiting their curiosity. Because of that matter,
my research is based on finding out ways oil paintings can communicate to more than just artists
and art enthusiasts but also the younger generation, who are apparently are the biggest
percentage of the nations population.
The research sample is MTSIFA students year 2, year3, and year one students and also some
lecturers. The study will establish how oil paintings can be animated, its possibilities, its
limitations and the solutions to the limitations.
The research shall use the explorative research design to obtain information. Data shall be
collected from the issuance of questionnaires among the various students, at MTSIFA, and
interview guides shall be used to obtain information about the write ups of the sample year three
oil students 2021/2022, and also observations shall be made to pick up the visual perception of
the oil paintings.
