Abstract
The research on child art is appropriate in the present day given the fact that most children love art and are still developing the skill. Child art has stages like scribble stage which is for ages 2-4 years, preschematic for ages 4-6 years, schematic for ages 7-9 years, dawning realism for ages 9-11 years, pseudorealism for ages 11-13 years. The importance of child art is to help children learn and practice skills and also critical thinking skills by making a plan or a picture of what they intend to create and follow through the plan, the arts communicates the unique emotions, thoughts, and experiences as it allows the people to see the world through the children’s eyes. Early childhood art helps child grow in physical, social, cognitive, and emotional development that is children express and explore their emotions, share how they relate to family and friends, talk about their difficulties, their future dreams and aspirations even if they have not yet developed a full vocabulary to speak. Children are encouraged to practice imagination and experimentation as they invent art. The principle aim of child art is that creative power develops and influences right through life. Art increases the power of observation of a child, the power of persecution and visualization which enables the child to learn any subject better and making him more sensitive, thus speeding the process of education.
