    Abstract
Domestic violence is at a high rate and it is attributed to a number of factors which include the social economic factors like poverty, low levels of education. They key objective of the study is to examine the relationship between domestic violence against women and social economic factors. Analyzed data was from the UDHS 2011 using the female dataset considering only the respondents aged 15-49 years. Data was analyzed in both descriptive and binomial labels of analysis. The variables that where statistically significant are type of place of residence, highest level of education and wealth index. The key recommendation is that women should be supported. This can be through enhancing access to quality education for the females and should be done together with policies against the domestic violence acts
