    Abstract
A Hospital is a health care facility that provides medical treatment to the sick or injured people. Management of hospital records can be manually in which the files are stored in file cabinets and in different locations/rooms which makes it hard for them to be found and updated or using a computer system that is time saving and cost effective. This study concerns the development of an automated HMS using java as the programming language, Netbeans as the Integrated Development Environment for Java which compiles and builds a jar file from the java code, sqlite as the database to implement the SQL standard with DB Browser being its IDE and Launch4J that makes the windows executable file for the system from the jar file made by Netbeans and the Java Runtime Environment which makes it possible for computers without java to run the application. The Application has both the Administrator and the User panels to restrict unauthorized user access and will be used by Itojo Hospital Staff in entry of Records for the Doctors, Nurses, Ward boys and the Patients. It will also aid in the room allocation, display of the existing records within the database, billing and discharge operations.
