The functionality of space and diversity; understanding interior design in homes and offices around Kampala
Abstract
In this study, my purpose was to help the reader understand what interior design is, what it entails and how it is put to use in homes and offices in Kampala city. I used interviews as a tool in collecting information and discovered that, a larger number of people do not really pay attention to interior design rules; they just go with what works for them in terms of use of space and colours used.
This research led me to two major conclusions: firstly, people should carry out more research about interior design in order to create a relaxing environment for the end user and secondly, colours are a big influence in design and should therefore be picked with great care.
