Abstract
Craft as a form of art found its way on to the Main Street market in Jinja district in 2000 upto date, where crafts men through responding to different historical events and environmental influences created objects for example household objects, wood vessels, musical instrument, clothing etcetera for sell. Crafts have to some extent played a part in the development of Uganda, exhibited through fashion, construction and household equipment. For a city like Jinja in Uganda, a major tourist destination since the 90's has had people seek petty jobs in the making of different crafts from tables and chairs to baskets, fabric decoration, etcetera. However, Most of the crafts and materials used on market are traditionally not of Ugandan origin.
