dc.description.abstract This research study was based on the factors that affect the number of art exhibitions in galleries around Kampala. The purpose of this research study was to find the factors that have led to the current downward trend of the exhibitions held in galleries and propose solutions that can be done to overcome them. Furthermore, the research was based on the following objectives in relation to the study topic; To investigate how exhibition space capacity, accessibility, leisure environment, and marketing strategy with others affect the number of exhibitions. To find out the state of galleries in terms of attendance numbers. To come up with possible measures of improving exhibition space capacity, accessibility, leisure environment, and marketing strategy with others in galleries. In chapter one the researcher presented an introductory part of the entire study including detailed information of the background of the study statement of the problem, purpose of the study, the objectives, research questions, significance and scope of the study. In chapter two, the researcher documented and cited all possible written relations in the literature review by correlating possible literature with identified objectives. Conclusions were made whereby the researcher cited literature that refuted or supported the current research study and suggested right methods. In chapter three, the researcher presented the methodology of this research study including the research design, research approach, sampling method, data collection and data analysis method that were used to acquire information for accomplishment of this research. In addition, anticipated limitations were also included that were resistance from correspondents and language barrier. To chapter four, the researcher presented the raw facts that were collected from field. This data was collected using the primary source methods of data collection including one on one interviews, questionnaire and observation. Data was analyzed using tables and presented in percentages. Finally in chapter five, the researcher discussed the findings that were gathered from the field in the previous chapter in relation to the respondents. Conclusions were made and finally recommendations that are practical were given which contribute to new knowledge. en_US
