dc.description.abstract This book covers library information management systems in Ugandan secondary schools. It first shows the increased need of a library by the students and then it reveals the need for a library information management system in Ugandan secondary schools. This is a knowledge based generation and as such the need to get access to information by the students. The library not only benefits the students, but also the teachers and members of the public. All these groups of people can get access to educational books, leisure books and other categories of books. With the increasing number of secondary school pupils and the library text books, there has risen a challenge to track the book borrowers. A new library information system is developed which helps to track the borrowers. This eases the work of the librarians, it helps the schools to cut costs on the lost books during borrowing as well as build confidence in the borrowing out of the books to the students in the secondary schools, whether within or outside the library. en_US
