dc.description.abstract This report covers how screenwriters in Uganda approach the structures of writing for film. It looks at the steps involved in preparing to write screenplays, explores the need to teach screenwriting in Kampala, the significance of screenwriting structures and the necessity of writing good screenplays. Qualitative method of research was used to gather the information in this report and it was found out that screenwriting structures are less used, yet they are important elements of storytelling in theatrical and film productions. Lack of adequate training in screenwriting and need of professional screenwriters are among the major reasons why screenwriting structures are still problematic to many screenwriters in Kampala. Then the study suggests recommendations, if screenwriting is to effectively breed better and great films in Kampala. en_US
