dc.description.abstract This study investigates the phenomenon of Urban Heat Islands (UHIs), focusing on their causes, effects, and mitigation strategies. Using geospatial analysis techniques, the research examines spatial and temporal patterns of land surface temperature (LST), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and Normalized Difference Built-Up Index (NDBI) across a selected urban area. The methodology involves data acquisition, image pre-processing, and the calculation of LST, NDVI, and NDBI for multiple acquired images. Statistical analyses and scatter plots are employed to explore relationships among these variables. The findings reveal distinct patterns in LST and its relationship to vegetation and built-up areas, emphasizing the critical role of urban planning in mitigating UHI effects. Recommendations are provided to enhance sustainable urban development and minimize adverse thermal impacts, contributing valuable insights for policymakers and researchers addressing urban environmental challenges. en_US
